Is that reproducible? I've been manically closing and reopening
Maildir boxes and haven't triggered it.

I just got the crash when clicking "Expunge" on the toolbar. I was
running with the Debug stuff on, but unfortunately not in gdb.

but I have no idea if that error is or is not related to the crash. Is
it possible message numbers get messed up after receiving mail, many of
which are by filter moved to other folders, then manually deleting and
moving others, finally hitting expunge. Doesn't seem likely to me,
but I've got nothing else. Also - none of those temporary freezes in
the past few days, but I don't think anything in particular has changed.
