In a first step for cleaning up the logging and notification issues, I created a new branch “cleanup-logging” (<https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/balsa/-/tree/cleanup-logging>) as to consolidate the various debug methods printing to stdout or stderr to use only g_debug(), g_warning() or g_critical(). This includes defining several new log domains for finer output control (see the README file). As always, any input will be highly appreciated! Best, Albrecht.
