My appologies sir on the failure of your appointment to be processed. The
orders had been prepared and signed but my Aide fell ill and they were never
sent to Headquarters. In the meantime, Msr. O'Reilly had shown such bravery
and solid command on the field that an appointment was made at the front.
As it was my error in not ensuring the orders went through, I offer you the
Guards Brigade command. I have sent missives to the current commanders of
the Royal Foot Guards and Cardinals Guards want to leave their regiments and
it is imperative that this fine Brigade have a leader such as yourself.
I do hope you will accept my appologies and this appointment.
