To: Le Vicomte, Brigadier General Felicien le Forban, CO Royal Foot Guards
From: Baron, Captain Alain de Sevigny, E Company Dragoon Guards

Sir,

It is with tremendous honor that I write to you. However, my elation is
balanced by the circumstances that prompt this missive. Since my arrival in
Paris I have been a cavalryman, but recent happenings have tarnished my
normally sterling appraisal of my current regiment. And this really is the
heart of the matter. I find myself in need of a change. To put the bad
feelings behind me and to start fresh. With this in mind, I would request
permission to join the most esteemed regiment in all of France. I'm certain
that you will find my military record to be above reproach, and my
dedication exceptional. I eagerly await your decision.

Your servant,

Alain de Sevigny
