To: Minister of State, Duc von Fersen, Colonel of the Cardinal's Guard From: Chevalier Nom de Plume, First Foot Brigadier Minister My congratulations on your appointment as His Majesty's Minister of State. Amid the inevitable affirmations of respect and friendship which you must be receiving at this time, I can only throw into the equation my own worthless opinion as to the fitness of His Majesty's choice. I understand that amid the press of business you must have scant time to consider every solicitation cast your way, but there is one post within your cabinet for which I would like to be considered. I wish to add my own application for the post of Chancellor of the Exchequer to your no doubt lengthy list of candidates. As qualification, I would forward only the facts of my steady rise to social prominency and fiscal strength from the most humble beginnings. I believe that I have demonstrated in recent years both my bravery in the field and my ability to manage my resources in order to obtain the greatest result from the smallest sum. I hope that these small gifts may prove of value in the service of France and I seek your approval for my application for the Chancellorship. Ever so humbly, Nom de Plume. [OOC: NdP applies for Chancellor of the Exchequer]
