Rage Against The Machine
<http://www.nme.com/artists/rage-against-the-machine> headlined the
*Main Stage* at *Reading Festival* tonight (August 22) in dramatic
fashion, arriving on stage dressed in *Guantanamo Bay* prisoner-style
clothes.

The band, who headlined here in 1996 and last appeared here in 2000,
came onstage dressed as prisoners of war, complete with bags over their
heads and matching boiler suits, launching straight into *'Bombtrack'*.

Despite not being able to see what they were playing for the entire song
due to their headwear, the band played a note-perfect rendition of the song.

Shortly after finishing *'Bombtrack'* the lights on stage went down and
the band reappeared to play the rest of their set - in normal clothes.

The huge audience was treated to the likes of *'Testify'*, *'Bullet In
Your Head'* and *'Wake Up'*.

Frontman *Zack de la Rocha* also took the opportunity to make a speech
slamming *George Bush* and *Tony Blair* -- saying that both should be
tried for war crimes.

The band finished their set by playing an encore of *'Freedom'* and
their best-loved track *'Killing In The Name'* to close the first day of
*Reading Festival* 2008.
