The Bible doesn't really endorse slavery. It's simply someone taking it out of context. Unfortunately that happens all the time - with all Holy Books. It's a pretty simple thing to do - quote some part and attribute it's meaning to something totally unrelated if taken in context.
It happens with the Qur'an constantly - by Islamophobes like Jawa. I am furious with them - they shut down yet another good website the other day.
