Adding my 2c: If you want to use Python 3 in a real life project and need to know if some common libraries are ported to or available for it, google for Python 3 wall of fame and see if it is in the list, and is green or red, or marked in some other appropriate way.
I can't say about very recent books. But it you are okay with somewhat older ones (still for the 2.6 or above series, and for the 3.1/3/3 or above, and supplement with more recent online docs, then here are few which are quite good: Learning Python - Lutz Programming Python - Lutz Python in a Nutshell - Martelli Python Essential Reference - Beazley Python Cookbook - different sets of authors for 2nd and 3rd edition. - Vasudev -- Inspired by nature. Vasudev Ram Python training and consulting - gumroad.com/vasudevram | jugad2.blogspot.com | vasudevram.github.io _______________________________________________ BangPypers mailing list BangPypers@python.org https://mail.python.org/mailman/listinfo/bangpypers
