I have experienced rejects in SEPA payment orders because of invalid
characters...
ISO 20022 messages are UTF8, but in France the banques limit the character
set to:
abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz
ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ
0123456789
/-?:().,‟+
Espace
in absence, of course, of a bilateral agreement.
It would be useful to create a default option to restrict (hence
converting) the character set.
In this manner, for example a advance made to 'Sébastien' should need
to convert his name to 'Sebastien'.
