Ah, btw - an important difference with the old webchat is the way sound notifications work. You will only hear a sound when somebody says your nickname in the chat - it allows to stay connected without being bothered every time someone says something (just remember to say the name of the person you are talking to to attract his/her attention). Btw, you can use the <TAB> key to autocomplete a nickname.
