2011-07-10 00:33:33+0000 Anatole (Anatole) is now online 2011-07-10 00:33:39+0000 <Anatole> hi 2011-07-10 00:33:56+0000 <Anatole> is there someone ? 2011-07-10 00:36:08+0000 * Anatole feels alone 2011-07-10 08:58:24+0000 <dachary> :-D 2011-07-10 09:17:19+0000 arbrandes (arbrandes) is now online 2011-07-10 09:33:43+0000 tempuramerino (tempuramerino) is now online 2011-07-10 09:54:19+0000 <arbrandes> Hey dachary! Thanks for accepting #189. :) 2011-07-10 09:54:31+0000 <arbrandes> Any news from the folks at Strasbourg? 2011-07-10 09:54:53+0000 <dachary> hey 2011-07-10 09:54:59+0000 <dachary> arbrandes: no news. 2011-07-10 09:55:03+0000 <dachary> I'm very curious :-) 2011-07-10 09:55:09+0000 <arbrandes> Yup, me too! heheheh 2011-07-10 09:55:19+0000 <dachary> they must be having a good time and do not care about us :-) 2011-07-10 09:55:24+0000 <dachary> ahahah 2011-07-10 09:55:36+0000 <arbrandes> Hahahaha, yes, that seems very likely ;) 2011-07-10 09:56:43+0000 <arbrandes> dachary, do you mind taking a look at http://tickets.farsides.com/issues/190#note-3 just to see if what I inferred makes sense? 2011-07-10 09:59:15+0000 <dachary> ok 2011-07-10 10:00:49+0000 <dachary> arbrandes: I'm more relaxed than I was in the past three days. I wrote a 26 pages Q&A report summarizing iso 2001:2008 + iso 90003:2004 + iso 14764 parts applied to a large project. That was crazy :-) 2011-07-10 10:01:25+0000 <arbrandes> Whoa!! That must have taken a LOT of work 2011-07-10 10:02:30+0000 <arbrandes> That would be something I would certainly NOT enjoy doing very much... I hope you got paid a truckload of money, hehehehe 2011-07-10 10:02:48+0000 <dachary> about #190 that's a good point. 2011-07-10 10:03:14+0000 <dachary> arbrandes: I was inded paid handsomely. I did not enjoy it at all. 2011-07-10 10:03:25+0000 <arbrandes> :) 2011-07-10 10:03:43+0000 * dachary thinking about #190 2011-07-10 10:04:09+0000 <dachary> I think you're correct in saying that mail must know the name of djangoauth 2011-07-10 10:05:44+0000 <arbrandes> I imagine we could create a base Auth() class that authentication plugins implement, and then somehow abstract away the plugin name from mail.py, but honestly I don't know how complicated that would be in the current architecture. 2011-07-10 10:06:05+0000 <dachary> exactly. 2011-07-10 10:06:37+0000 <dachary> Creating a base class tha tis only needed for mail is overkill compared to hardwiring the compatible plugins. At least at this point in time. 2011-07-10 10:07:38+0000 <dachary> I formaly agreed : http://tickets.farsides.com/issues/190#note-4 ;-) 2011-07-10 10:08:14+0000 <arbrandes> Ok, thanks, dachary! :) 2011-07-10 13:10:36+0000 arbrandes (arbrandes) is now online 2011-07-10 14:47:43+0000 arbrandes (arbrandes) is now online 2011-07-10 19:24:46+0000 dachary (dachary) is now online 2011-07-10 19:52:46+0000 <arbrandes> Hey dachary! #190 is ready for review, if you feel like it: http://tickets.farsides.com/issues/190#note-6 2011-07-10 19:58:28+0000 <dachary> hey 2011-07-10 20:03:31+0000 <dachary> arbrandes: I'm on it 2011-07-10 20:04:21+0000 <arbrandes> dachary, no pressure, if you'd rather do this later, no problem for me :) 2011-07-10 20:05:06+0000 <dachary> I'm good. It's quiet and fresh here in Paris early night. My son is reading before going to bed. The cat purs at my feets. Perfect time for a review :-) 2011-07-10 20:06:59+0000 <arbrandes> Nice description, makes me want to get a cat. :) 2011-07-10 20:07:21+0000 <dachary> I've just played two game of cardstori.es with my son and a friend. 2011-07-10 20:07:59+0000 <arbrandes> How did it go? I tried with a couple of my friends yesterday, too. 2011-07-10 20:08:32+0000 <arbrandes> They said the same thing the playtesters did: it's a bit hard to understand at first. 2011-07-10 20:10:04+0000 <dachary> if plugin.name() in ('auth', 'djangoauth'): 2011-07-10 20:10:09+0000 <dachary> nice touch :-) 2011-07-10 20:10:43+0000 <arbrandes> Hehehe, thanks, without this I would've had to add a test to get 100% coverage. :) 2011-07-10 20:11:06+0000 <dachary> arbrandes: it went well because most of the fun was to explain the game to my friend. My son knows it already because he learnt how to play it during the very early stages of development. 2011-07-10 20:11:42+0000 <dachary> We managed to play the games (my son, his mother and myself) with an interface that was *far* worse than what it is ;-) 2011-07-10 20:12:45+0000 <arbrandes> Ah, yes, when explaining it all works well, agreed. In my case I just sent a link and heard back from them later. One of them is a coder, and he was actually kind of excited with the technology. 2011-07-10 20:13:04+0000 <arbrandes> the first comment was: "Cool, no flash!!" hehehe 2011-07-10 20:13:07+0000 <dachary> ahahah 2011-07-10 20:14:34+0000 <dachary> http://pastebin.com/EDv474U9 2011-07-10 20:14:42+0000 <dachary> arbrandes: I have the error above ^ 2011-07-10 20:14:46+0000 <dachary> do you have the same ? 2011-07-10 20:14:49+0000 <dachary> I did 2011-07-10 20:14:54+0000 <dachary> make -f maintain.mk check 2011-07-10 20:14:58+0000 <dachary> from the top leve 2011-07-10 20:15:02+0000 <dachary> l 2011-07-10 20:15:14+0000 <arbrandes> let me check 2011-07-10 20:17:14+0000 <arbrandes> oops, same here. I wonder why I didn't catch it before... 2011-07-10 20:17:20+0000 <arbrandes> anyway, let me fix it 2011-07-10 20:19:19+0000 <arbrandes> dachary, amend, or new commit? Does it make a difference to you either way? 2011-07-10 20:20:01+0000 <arbrandes> (from my side, it's all the same) 2011-07-10 20:20:28+0000 <dachary> that's what peer review is for ;-) New commit is fine with me. 2011-07-10 20:22:21+0000 <arbrandes> https://gitorious.org/~arbrandes/cardstories/arbrandes-cardstories/commit/11157fc414409a6f761b80b7665ca31afb5c9730 2011-07-10 20:22:36+0000 <dachary> When a carefull review of the patch is required a single commit is much easier. Or when there are multiple pending patches (either because you've been working real fast or because I've not reviewed during a long time). But I've not been lagging on your patches so far (mostly because they are near perfect each time). Therefore multiple commits are not a problem for me. 2011-07-10 20:25:02+0000 <arbrandes> Ok, understood. :) Coming from an SVN background, where multiple commits were very hard to handle. 2011-07-10 20:25:55+0000 <arbrandes> (compared to git, that is) 2011-07-10 20:28:39+0000 <dachary> http://tickets.farsides.com/issues/190#note-8 2011-07-10 20:29:10+0000 <arbrandes> Cool, thanks! :D 2011-07-10 20:29:32+0000 <dachary> arbrandes: I'll be at RMLL tomorrow night. I'll let you know how it goes. I'm eager to learn more :-) 2011-07-10 20:30:29+0000 <arbrandes> dachary, awesome, please do! I'm also dying to know what's going on there. :) 2011-07-10 20:44:39+0000 <arbrandes> dachary, signing out for tonight. Have a good trip tomorrow! bye _______________________________________________ Farsides mailing list - [email protected] Wiki: http://farsides.com/ List: http://farsides.com/ml/ Forum: http://farsides.com/forum/ Ideas: http://farsides.com/ideas/ Chat: http://farsides.com/chat/
