Jan,
This is 100% one thing the community desperately needs. We need both
physical and online places to hangout and then we can start working on
getting more of a ground swell. We need to keep the momentum that we
have from Barcamp and both ride it and push it higher.

Thank you very much for clueing me in on this effort. Maybe the
mentoring group and the general group can somehow have adjacent/shared
spaces somewhere. I see that 'Who wants to use the space for what?'
was already on the groups agenda last week.

The IT community here needs to get organized on the real web with a
real website that anyone searching for normal search phrases can find.
I didn't even think of looking for the term 'hackerspace' before.
Maybe that is something we need to add to the mix for our SEO effort.
I also noted that 'other tools' also on the agenda. A lot can be done
in this area now with social networking. Non-profit organizations can
also get very expensive hosting and other social software licenses for
free.

Today, I purchased these domains:
Domain: THAILANDCOMMUNITY.ORG
Domain: IT-COMMUNITY.ORG
Domain: THAILANDITCOMMUNITY.ORG
Domain: THAILANDITCOMMUNITY.COM

I will donate these domains to an organized group here once one is
established. In the meantime, I am open to discussions with anyone
with a solid action plan to use them to grow the IT community here in
Thailand.

Regards,
Ian
