We had a Barcamp Bangkok 4 organizers wrap up meeting a couple weeks ago and set into motion some beginning stages of planning for Barcamp Bangkok 5. The most important issue discussed as a tentative date for Barcamp 5, which would be held in July.
That gives us roughly 4 months to plan for the next Barcamp. I'd like to invite anyone who is interested in assisting with organizing the next barcamp to come attend the first organizers meeting for Barcamp 5, this Thursday, March 31st. Venue details below. *The schedule for the next meeting will be:* - Discussing the topics brought up at the Barcamp 4 Organizers Wrap up meeting. - Gathering feedback on what changes we'd like to make for Barcamp 5. - Choosing a Lead Organizer / Project Manager for Barcamp 5 (Thai & English required). - Selecting teams of organizers who will perform specific tasks. *We will require volunteers for the following tasks:* - Lead Organizer / Project Manager - Sponsorship - Venue Coordination - Marketing - Video Production - Web Development - Graphic/Web Design - Party Event Planning - Foreign Guest Coordinators - Printing Coordinators - Attendees Registration - Schedules - General "day of event" Volunteers This meeting will be held on Thursday, March 31st at 7pm. The location is still pending confirmation, but it will either be near MRT Petchaburi or BTS Saladaeng. I will confirm the venue on Tuesday (tomorrow). As it's been said in the past, that Barcamp is a DO-ocracy, so please help us with shaping the future of these events in Bangkok. *A do-ocracy is an organizational structure in which individuals choose roles and tasks for themselves and execute them.
