Hello, I'm currently reviewing various possibilities for labelling the tapes i'll use and i was wondering what are the naming schemes commonly used.
All backups run weekly and I'll have 2 different retention periods: 6 months (rotated) or forever (i.e. not rotated, just kept forever). Initially i wanted to reserve a few digits to differentiate the tapes to be rotated like C12009 for Crawler backup Week12 Tape 9, or P14007 for DB backup Week 14 Tape 7, etc and also have another scheme for the tapes to be kept forever with only a number on the barcode label.
