As a new user of Bareos, I wish to report another issue related to BAT
and the Bareos feedback to the operator: I just made a full restore of
that tape and it reported in "Files Expected" and "Files Restored" a
number that is in fact the sum of all files plus all directories. The
number is correct, but as an end user (operator) I was expecting a
report of X files and Y Directories. Because of that in the first
moment I thought that were errors in the restore process and waisted
sometime till I could learn that Bareos was adding files to
directories and reporting as if it were all files. I know it is a
different issue, but I decided to report it here, because both issues
are related to incorrect feedback to the operator and gives the
impression of an unfinished work. >From your web site, I understand
that improving the Bareos user interface is already one of the most
important points in the "to do" list and I hope my feedback may be of
some help.
Yes, i reported this to in the past. There is answer from bareos team -
Marco van Wieringen to your post below. For me part of this answer is
unaccetable, that every is file in UNIX and so on. But what with windows
? Bareos Windows client show some stupid things about files that were
processed/backed up in backup report. Nobody cares, if bareos raport has
sense or not. This sense is only for bareos team. But this my conclusion.
Sorry. But Hilaro, as history shows, as free user (whithout paid
subscription for Bareos) you can only write, reports and ... don't
expect any thing as new features or resolved issues, that has low very
low priority will be processed very soon. You have free product and you
can use it in this state, as it is. There is many choices out there.
