Here is our current setup: 1 tape changer with 1 drive Director and storage daemons are running on one server(Bareos server) 3 Clients(FDs): Bareos server, Windows server, and a Linux VM 3 Pools: DetectorData, Daily, and Scratch 3 Jobs: DataArchive, VMBackup, WindowsShare DataArchive is a job that we run manually to periodically archive collected sensor data. This job is run manually from the Bareos Server client.
VMBackup is a job that runs every day and goes through all of our VMs creating LVM snapshots and then making backups from those snapshots. This job runs on the Linux VM client. WindowsShare is a job that runs every day and backs up all of our Windows shares on our Windoze server. This job runs on the Windows server. What we are trying to do is configure VMBackup and WindowsShare jobs to be spooled to disk while the long running DataArchive job is being spooled and despooled incrementally(100GB chunks). Then once the DataArchive job completes, the tape is swapped and all of the previously spooled data from the other two jobs is written to tape. Hope that makes sense. Thank you for taking a look. ___________________________________________ ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Ryan Clough Information Systems Decision Sciences International Corporation <http://www.decisionsciencescorp.com/> <http://www.decisionsciencescorp.com/> -- This email and its contents are confidential.
