I'm facing the same trouble with a Windows 7 and bareos 15.2.4 (from subscription channel) without yet why it failed. I was suspecting low free place on the disk, but reboot, etc doesn't cure the problem. As we don't care that much about the mssqlexpress content on that computer I've disabled the vss writer for SQL.
