Hi again. I don't know if the problem is vmware plugin, but it looks like.
My enviroment is a vmware cluster and, on the other hand, one server with Proxmox VE running bareos director and bareos storages and only this. This server has 24 x Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E5-2640 0 @ 2.50GHz (2 Sockets) and 64GB RAM. When i do the backups, all works fine, but the transfer rate is so poor, about 300kB/s. I do iperf tests and all works fine on my network and disks. I try everything that my brain permits: - With data spooling. without. - Mounting disks with noatime - Changing encription - Changing compression to all types - Without compression: Here we go, without compression, transfer rate ups to acceptable values (40-50MB/s). I thought could be the CPU performance, as obvious, so i put many cores and RAM to the machine with no results. (Later i discover that compression is done only for 1 CPU in any case). Then, i tried to move the client to the vmware cluster, because is more powerful. No results. Then, I moved the entire director with no results either. - I try with a Windows client, without vmware plugin: With compression, the transfer rate is about 12MB/s. Isn't the best, but better. I have to say i have others bareos virtualized enviroments with correct performance. Other thing is breaking my brain, is: when the backup starts, starts about 20MB/s (seconds) and is going down until stands on 300KB/s, like a buffering problem or bottle neck, but i don't find where. I'm desperate... Anybody can recommend something else to check??
