You might forget that this specific email is about transfering the 
important data which are contained into the .bsr attachment outside of the 
system :-)

Keeping it is local /var/spool/mail is not the best way to set a disaster 
recovery setup for your Bareos installation...
You can comment that line if you don't need bsr (can be in specific 
installation).
You can write bsr to somewhere in the filesystem you know it is not local
You can use whatever script you want to send that bsr information somewhere 
you store your external catalog copy.

so the bsr is completely disconnected of the user and messaging
setting root as user is an old practice because all system should have a 
valid and working root messaging destination.
