A quick search with yahoo: Toeschi, Carlo Giuseppe (Carl Joseph) c1722-1788 Italy, Romagna - Germany, Munich
A consummate violinist, Toeschi joined the Mannheim orchestra in 1752 and became its Konzertmeister in 1759. His composition teachers included Johann Stamitz and the young Anton Filtz. Toeschi's early compositions were in the old Baroque style and then later resembled those of his teacher Filtz. By the 1760's, however, he had developed a unique style which incorporated unique dotted rhythms and canonic imitation, demanding high technical expertise in the violin parts. By the 1780's he and Cannabich were the most highly regarded German symphonists in Paris. Toeschi is also noted as an important composer of flute music. The violinist/composer Johann Christoph Toeschi was his brother, whose son Carl Theodor Toeschi also composed a small body of notable works. J.M.
