This may be similar to a change that Duncan Mak reported on OpenSuse 10.3.
Try changing the SUBSYSTEM=="usb_device" to ENV{DEVTYPE}=="usb_device"
in the /etc/udev/rules/10-blackberry.rules file.
I'm still investigating whether it is possible to write the rules
so that they work on both old and new systems.
If that doesn't help, then please run the following command, and replug
your blackberry, and send me the output. (You can send it offlist if
you prefer).
udevmonitor --env

Thanks for the report!
