Yes this is going to be fraught with problems: > Write simple GUI for streamlining sync setup and action > ------------------------------------------------------- > Syncing setup and operation is currently a tedious, complicated task. > A GUI that performed all the detailed setup and configuration work, > for a Blackberry-specific sync, using opensync libraries and plugins > for Evolution, Sunbird, etc, would be very helpful. > > This would be much easier for an experienced GUI programmer, but there is > a learning curve for the opensync API. > > Note: Depending how fast HAL, OpenSync, and Conduit are implemented, > this may never be needed... but if it existed today, there's a > lot of users who would be very happy...
We shouldn't be creating or even attempting to create a gui, anyone interested in getting a really good gui for blackberry syncing needs to work with me, John Carr and others who are attempting to formalise the intergration for all syncing devices such that a very good gui can be made for all devices instead of wasting time of a poor gui for just one. John is already stressed from having to convince f-spot and other applications to stop trying to implement their own sync engines and deal with a single framework.
