Alas? Er, anyhow - official Mandriva packages for this release are built and will be arriving in repositories soon, in /contrib/release for Cooker and /contrib/backports for 2008 Spring. I have hacked vcard.cc slightly to output UPPER CASE rather than lower case phone number types, in order to (hopefully) fix the Blackberry -> Windows Mobile sync case I wrote about before. This is a hack and the correct fix is to make synce case-insensitive, but the synce folks didn't get around to fixing that yet, and we're close to the release of Mandriva 2009, so I wanted to have something to address it just in case. Tomorrow I will have a Blackberry available to actually *test* this (testing before release is after all for wimps :>). Also, the PPP scripts are now installed to appropriate locations; you should be able to just install barry-ppp, plug in your Blackberry, do 'pppd call barry-verizon' (or whatever) and watch the connection come up.
