Technically, there appears to be a barry-util package (and a few
others to go with it) in Debian Sid
(http://packages.debian.org/sid/barry-util). Since packages in Debian
get imported into Ubuntu at the start of a release cycle, I'm curious
to see if it's not already in Ubuntu Jaunty Jackalope.

It seems to have been uploaded by Jose Carlos Garcia Sogo on September
21, 2008, so that should also explain why it isn't currently in Ubuntu
8.10.

I had taken some steps to include barry in Ubuntu some time ago, but I
had run into some issues, along with the fact that I had been dealing
a little bit with Felipe Lerena who had some interest in packaging
barry for Debian/Ubuntu at that point too. Anyway, the point is that
the current development version already contains at least some of the
barry packages, so if you want to include new versions, it is easy
enough to propose them through Launchpad as a bug, or fix bugs to the
current packages, or publish your updated packages to REVU for them to
be included in universe..
