Good to hear. To the best of my knowledge, you are the third person to compile it, the second person to insmod it, and I am on both of those lists :) So it may be a little premature to make it too easy for those that don't know what a kernel module is, or the damage they can cause :)
I use it mainly with the desktop sync, rarely with the modem. You can still use XmBlackBerry for backups with: XmBlackBerry -device /dev/bbdesktop0 It seems that the 8700 ppp stack must have been fixed though. What Blackberry OS Version is on your 8700?
