Looks similar to issues I had with my Bold 9000.  I was running Ubuntu 
8.10 and had similar issues on FC10.  One of the guys on the project 
worked with me to get a newer libbarry which worked except for needing a 
replug after hang-up.  I'm sure he'll chime in when he sees your post.
