Hi Paul, Welcome to Barry, and thanks for your persistence. :-) This is a fascinating error, and I'm happy to know that it works for you on your 64 bit machine, so that kinda rules out any issues with the Blackberry. Could you try disabling the threaded btool behaviour? Use the -z command option, and see if that changes things at all. As for the "second device reset", was I talking about bcharge at the time? Bcharge resets the device (from a USB standpoint, not the Blackberry OS) as you plug it in, sometimes twice. Btool can reset the device as well, but only if you ask (-X). Syncing and backups do not reset the device, but syncing does involve a disconnect/reconnect.
