This message often happens when the device gets confused... and you
need to replug the device.

I'm assuming that you've tried that already, though.

The pppob.log shows that the PPP level of communication is attempted,
which is a good sign.  This likely means that your PPP options file
has some incompatible options from your carrier.

Some options you might play around with:

        maxfail 40
        persist
        usepeerdns

And make sure user and password are the same as your Windows machine.
