I've recently seen similar bogus counts in my testing with my new 9550
here.  I borrowed a 9800 briefly, and found the same kind of counts,
but when I compared the dbdb counts and the actual record counts in
the resulting backup file, I didn't notice any discrepencies.

Thanks for finding those two databases that caused the issue for you,
though.
