Andrew .. I think it would be a good idea to note the MySQL default my.cnf on
some linux distro's does not meet the minimum requirement for
max_allowed_packet. Could you note that on the install guide as a pre-check to
installing ?

Jan,

yes - I had that issue where it said "Logging to SQL" and "logging to
backup". max_allowed_packet on the MySQL server is set to 1M

On that note - the upgrade went well, thank you all!

hi

can I quick ask you about: the "baruwa.db" backup database - by this you mean
that it stops logging to mysql and uses the backup or?

if so, can I ask you what your setting is for you mysql database of the value "
max_allowed_packet" in my.cf

Subject: [Baruwa] Upgrade to 1.1.0-8.el6

Hello,

I'm about to update (on CentOS 6.0) to Baruwa 1.1.0-8.el6, mostly because of
the "baruwa.db" backup database issue.
- do I have to change any other MySQL tables to InnoDB other than "messages" ?
- can I also safely upgrade to django-celery 2.2.7-1.el6, erlang*
R14B-03.3.el6, pyparsing 1.5.6-1.el6 and python-celery 2.2.7-3.el6?
(those were all suggested by "yum update")
- do I need to grab anything else from github?

I guess the safe way would be
- stop MailScanner
- stop Baruwa
- yum update ...
- start Baruwa/MailScanner

Did I miss anything?

Thank you all for your help / input.

     Frank
