This could be done, but would take a lot of work. Cpanel boxes are very tricky
..

Also, don't hijack someones thread! Start a new one and I will respond.

Subject: [Baruwa] cPanel

Hi there,

I am looking to replace configserver MSFE with Baruwa. I am running a cPanel
webhosting server and currently have mailscanner and mailwatch installed. I
would like to remove this...

Has anyone done this ? Do you have a guide ?

Thanks

Steve

Alright, I did add the -U (to the /usr/sbin/MailScanner), most of the mails
being in the hold folder were released (some of them still being there but it's
not a big deal) and Baruwa logged them in the GUI, however when I ran the
--debug command I got plenty of lines as below (cutting about same 90 lines to
shorten it), any idea?

------------------------------------------------------------------
[root@smtp ~]# MailScanner --debug

Trying to setlogsock(unix)

Taint error ..

Open mailscanner’s binary and add –U to the # line. /usr/sbin/MailScanner ?
#!/usr/bin/perl –I/Usr/share/MailScanner … add -U

Hi Jeremy,
1) The Lint test doesn't give any errors or failure
2) The --debug output is as below (ignore the pyzor check failed, it's just
because I'm running the test as root):

----------------------------------------
[root@smtp ~]# MailScanner --debug

In Debugging mode, not forking...
Trying to setlogsock(unix)
pyzor: check failed: internal error, python traceback seen in response
Building a message batch to scan...

Have a batch of 1 message.
pyzor: check failed: internal error, python traceback seen in response
Insecure dependency in open while running with -T switch at
/usr/lib64/perl5/IO/File.pm line 185.
----------------------------------------

3) could you please confirm were to add the -U (in which file) ?

BTW: I'm using the latest MailScanner version 4.84.3-1 from the
MailScanner.info site (as the v 4.84.3-2 from Baruwa's repo makes the
mailscanner service not starting at boot time and have to be started manually -
weird)

Thanks,
Anis.

Have you added -U to the mailscanner? Looks like the taint error. What does
-debug output? Lint test?
