Any clue why mail scanner is failing?

/etc/init.d/mailscanner status
Checking MailScanner daemons:
         MailScanner: running
incoming sendmail: head: cannot open `/var/run/sendmail.in.pid'
for reading: No such file or directory
[FAILED]

I configured mailscanner to run with Postfix not sure why this is failing.
