Yes that is what I was using at first.
Now changed to 2.6 to work with the current setup so that has not been the
issue.
I use Debian 7.1 so something must be different in uwsgi (probably uwsgi for
debian is compiled with 2.6 but that is just a guess.)
(I also had it working with Ubuntu before but I preffer Debian over Ubuntu for
my servers..)

When forcing the virtualenv to use python 2.6 and then install everyting again
all seems to work just fine.
Are there any know issues when using python 2.6 instead of python 2.7 on Debian?
Have you tried updating your /etc/nginx/sites-enabled/baruwa and pointing to
python2.7 instead of python2.6?
I have it running on Ubuntu12.04 with python2.7.
