Had a thought at the water cooler: In the same way that zip files can be uploaded and unpacked immediately, it might be nice to have a plugin do something similar with excel spreadsheets (convert them to text). There are Java libraries to do this (http://jexcelapi.sourceforge.net/ or http://poi.apache.org/).
