If the problem persists with 7.8, you could try to deactivate value
indexing (create textindex off; create attrindex off) or increase the
assigned memory in the start scripts (/usr/bin/basex or [1]) to e.g.
-Xmx4g (provided that you are using the 64 bit version of Java, and
that your system has enough RAM).
