Last week he and a bunch of BASFAns went to beautiful downtown San Jose for FurtherConfusion on behalf of WorldCon76. The room party of requirement, which contained items from Kevin & Andy’s past parties. Interesting weekend. Carole: if we get one quarter of the interest, WC76 would get at least a dozen more memberships - or more. Bradford Movie: The Shape of Water. Highly recommend. Guillermo del Toro directed. Went to matinee, but would pay full price. Definitely see it. Yochanan Went to Berkeley and found Dark Carnival. Reminded him of the old Recycled in San Jose. DaveC: Dark Carnival is still open, but is still facing closure at some point, but no longer doing the 20% sale. Found Miracle and other Christmas Stories by Connie Willis. Christmas themed short stories. DaveC: Concurs that this is a good book. Stranger Things - Love it! Half way through Season 2. Adrienne Mayors Liccardo, Shaft & Lee were planning to have a meal in Napa county to help promote that wine country is still going. Those plans tanked when Ed Lee died. But BAGH to the rescue! A local ghost walk in Napa, and was joined by the mayor of Napa. Afterwards, went to Downtown Joe’s. Stayed at the Napa Inn (not the Napa River Inn). Nice B&B and good breakfast. Recommend it all. JC: He and Beth stayed there 5 years ago - in the turret room. Mo: All the rooms are unique in the Inn. They had the Madeline room (next to the Turret Room), with a jacuzzi tub. Staff was friendly. First B&B experience. Got to talk with people from all around. Ghost walk was interesting. Mo Saw the first 2 seasons of Stargate SG1 originally, now catching up of the rest of it. Yochanan: Better than the movie that inspired it. Gerald: The only show on TV to show the military in a way that it was when he was in it. JC Played games: Utter Nonsense, similar to Cards Against Humanity - but with pairing with an accent, emotions or languages. Entertaining and goofy. Recommend. Also played Myth or True. Slower Gerold Madame Secretary. Brain Tumor mcguffin used to do a sendup of #45. There was a blind auction. The meeting adjourned at: 21:01 and the rumor of the week was: Sometime in the future, Brad will give us a review.
