Hi Joan,

   This sounds like a problem with the character encoding.  I'm a bit out of
my element there, but you might try specifying a different encoding (utf-8
perhaps?).
  Since you are using the rasterizer, you may be limited to specifying the
encoding in the xml...

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
