The SVG 1.1 specification clearly states that 'text-anchor' uses the
'direction' value to determine the reference point for anchoring text (in the
context of right-to-left scripts). It appears that Batik is currently using
'writing-mode', which could be a possible interpretation from the less clear
SVG 1.0 specification.
