   Well you can override 'calculateViewingTransform' on the Canvas 
(perhaps only if fragment Identifier is null) to always return the 
identity transform (new AffineTransform()).

   Do you/your users know about 'ctrl' drag mouse 1?  This makes it very
easy to zoom a lot on the exact area that you are interested in.
Personally, I think showing the full document with this capability makes
getting to the area of interest much faster.
