The rasterizer [1] already supports "image/png", "image/jpeg" and "image/tiff" raster formats, which can potentially be used as templates for a bitmap implementation - do you intend to support "image/x-ms-bmp" [2] or did you mean "raster"? The "more intelligently than its currently done" suggests you are aware of limitations on the current approach. Could you provide further details, potentially attaching test cases where the raster conversion is not smartly handled (and how should it be performed in those cases)?
