   If you downloaded a Batik release you should already have sydney.svg
(plus the images it references).  Of course SVG is XML so you probably
got the right file.

   No, but it has javascript that listens for mouse clicks and mouse over
events and does the sorts of things you were asking about.

   Since you are obviously new to SVG, XML & DOM might I suggest getting
a book on SVG to get you started?
