I should clearify. I mean "nonfree" in the sense they are not "free
software" because of the licensing encumberances of the Intel-Dialogic
and Aculab runtime libraries, or much in the way Debian has a "nonfree"
apt-get repository (and in fact that is also another potential use for
this split, so that those drivers could also be made available through
Debian), not in the sense they will only be available for a fee.

David,
Any particullar reason for making these drivers nonfree?

Subject: [Bayonne-devel] Split off of Bayonne 2 "nonfree" drivers
In cvs I have placed the nonfree drivers (Dialogic and Aculab
currently)
into a new and seperate package and cvs module,
"bayonne2-nonfree". In
the future, perhaps starting with release 0.4.1, or 0.5.0,
these drivers
will be removed from the primary package, "bayonne2".
nonfree drivers link directly against libbayone, which is
under the GPL
with runtime exception. They also compile and install like they did
before, except for the fact that they are now in a seperate package.
This does make it harder to use nonfree drivers in "-test"
mode, but one
can create an appropriate symlink in the bayonne2 build
directory, such
as something like "modules/dialogic ->
../../bayonne2-nonfree/dialogic"
to allow this to be done.
The Bayonne2-nonfree drivers package will probably not be
found on the
GNU ftp site, but will be provided in the sourceforge
download area and
on sunsite.
