The current 'release' versions of BBDB do not support multiple
records with the same name. By using bbdb-create-internal you are
by-passing the normal checks that prevent you from creating duplicate
records.
The good news is that I have produced a patch that enables
support for duplicate records in bbdb. It might be available on
SourceForge (as 2.2?). I know it's available from:
http://bbdb.sourceforge.net/
It's at the very bottom as my patch.
