The dialing function works for me. I play the DTMF tones with the
digital phone near one of the loudspeakers. My bank account numbers
and other numeric information are placed in phone fields, so BBDB is my
favorite tool for telephone banking.
This is from my ~/.emacs file:
(setq bbdb-sound-player "/usr/bin/play")
(setq bbdb-sound-files
'["/usr/lib/sounds/touchtone.0.au"
"/usr/lib/sounds/touchtone.1.au"
"/usr/lib/sounds/touchtone.2.au"
"/usr/lib/sounds/touchtone.3.au"
"/usr/lib/sounds/touchtone.4.au"
"/usr/lib/sounds/touchtone.5.au"
"/usr/lib/sounds/touchtone.6.au"
"/usr/lib/sounds/touchtone.7.au"
"/usr/lib/sounds/touchtone.8.au"
"/usr/lib/sounds/touchtone.9.au"])
There are no star and pound entries in BBDB, but I use macros instead.
The following line in bbdb-com.el can simply be removed:
(or window-system (error "You're not under window system."))
Cheers,
Helge
