I typically run Gnus in a frame that is about 55 lines long. The
subject buffer typically is about 15 lines or so. I have this one
bbdb record that has driving directions to the guys house in the notes
field (originally from my palm). When I open a message from him the
bbdb pops up to about 20 lines. This leaves the article buffer pretty
cramped in the middle. Is there some way I can globally limit the
bbdb buffer to never taking more than X number of lines?

I see bbdb-pop-up-target-lines which says it's supposed to be the
"desired number of lines" in a pop-up window. However, it's not
absolute; just a hint it appears.
