The manual says that is doesn't work. Francesco is not
reporting this as a bug, he is trying to figure out why this
isn't working in Gnu Emacs (as stated in the manual).

I just tried it, and it works like it should. So the manual
should be fixed. Here's a patch against the current CVS (I
took the liberty of fixing a spelling error as well) that
removes the incorrect statement.
