Hello I have set bbdb-new-nets-always-primary to nil, and it worked fine for me in gnus, however in vm it did not, bbdb acted as if the variable where set to t.
I asked a while ago about this, and no real answer came up. Now I found out that there is a variable bbdb/mail-auto-create-p which is set to t by default and which add automatically new entries for VM, MH and RMAIL (but not gnus.) I can see that the variable is a little different from bbdb-new-nets-always-primary however I suggest to add a comment in the manual and to emphasise that there are 2 ways of adding new addresses to the bbdb database.
