Can you give me this as a diff, rather than a complete rewrite of the
function? Makes it easier to review & check in...

There's nothing stopping you from changing the 'to' address on the
bug-report email so it goes to me directly rather than to the
list. I'd much prefer to get proper bug reports as it makes it a lot
easier to figure out if you've got weirdness in your setup.
