In Editing:Keyboard there is a single Preference for the Home/End
keys, setting whether they go to top/bottom of document, or begin/end
of line.
In the default setting (top/bottom), page 62 of the manual says that
cmd-Home/End also move the insertion point point.
What the manual does not say (and should) is, when you set Home/End
to go to Begin/End of line, what key combination then gives you top/
bottom of document moves? Do any? Also, it appears that when you set
Home/End to begin/end mode, the cmd-Home/End functions stop working,
too.
So: if I need to use Home/End to go to begin/end of line, what keys
can I use for the previous, default functions of Home/End and cmd-
Home/End?
What I would LIKE is to make ctl-Home/End or opt-Home/End go to top/
bottom... is this configurable somehow?
Thanks,
Dave Cortesi
p.s. The reason I need to set this preference is, I spend a lot of
time in an X-windows editor where home/end are begin/end of line, and
when I come back to BBEdit, I keep sending myself to top/bottom of
file, which is very, very annoying.
