I forget where I first heard it, but somewhere in the not-too-distant past, I 
learned that in the text areas of most well-behaved Cocoa apps (at least I 
think it's Cocoa-specific), Cmd-Shift-Opt-V performs a "Paste and Match style." 
I find that I'm using this all the time now for effectively stripping out 
formatting. Especially for quick pasting into iChat or Mail.

And Peter's `pbpaste | pbcopy` tip is definitely one to tuck away. I'll have to 
remember that one.

(Now, if I could just figure out how to tell bbdiff what encoding to use, I'd 
be in great shape.)
